The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies in the workplace. Fully aligned with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and current UK guidelines, this training ensures competence and compliance, particularly in high-risk environments such as construction and healthcare.
The course covers the assessment of emergency situations, basic life-saving interventions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and first aid for common workplace injuries, including wounds, burns, fractures, and medical emergencies such as strokes and heart attacks. Participants will also learn how to manage unconscious casualties and ensure their safety and comfort until professional help arrives.
Legal responsibilities, including accurate incident reporting and record-keeping, are also addressed to ensure participants can act confidently, responsibly, and in compliance with workplace safety regulations. By completing this course, participants will be fully prepared to handle emergencies, minimise risks, and contribute to a safer workplace environment.
