The Paediatric First Aid course provides healthcare professionals, childminders, teachers, and caregivers with the essential knowledge to respond confidently to medical emergencies involving infants and children. This training is aligned with the latest Resuscitation Council UK (Resus UK) guidelines and UK best practices in paediatric first aid.
Participants will explore paediatric-specific considerations, including the physiological differences between children and adults, and learn tailored approaches to emergency care. The course covers a wide range of scenarios, including airway and respiratory emergencies, circulatory crises, injuries, and medical conditions such as seizures and anaphylaxis. It also introduces life-saving techniques, including CPR, the recovery position, and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
In addition to physical first aid, this course focuses on psychological first aid, offering strategies for effective communication and emotional support for children and families during emergencies. Preventive measures to reduce risks and promote safety in everyday environments are also discussed, ensuring participants are prepared to deliver informed, compassionate care when needed most.

To respond effectively to paediatric medical and environmental emergencies, such as seizures, anaphylaxis, and drowning.
